Passed down from generations to generations via word of mouth, pen and paper, carvings on stone and pixels on screen. The same stories are retold over and over again, finding new meaning and purpose with each iteration.

And now, let us continue this cycle. Together, accompanied by the characters of Omniscient Reader, let us read these stories again.

FOLKLORE is a SFW Omniscient Reader fanzine focused on the themes of legends, myths and fairytales.

◤ General Info

Due to moderation constraints, this fanzine will contain fanworks written in English only. This zine may also contain spoilers.

All works will feature the characters of Omniscient Reader only, and will be centred around one specific legend, myth or fairytale.

The right of use, reproduction, and/or distribution of each work will belong to the respective content creator.

Creators should not talk about recognisable content in the zine online. This includes streaming, posting WIPs, or screenshots of your progress.

Plagiarism will not be tolerated. Anyone who has been found to have plagiarised will be immediately removed from the fanzine.

Q: What will be produced?
A: There will be an e-zine (online copy of the full zine), a physical copy of the full zine, and merch.

Q: Where will the proceeds from this fanzine go too?
A: This is a for-profit fanzine. The zine will not be mass-produced and proceeds will go to the contributors.

Q: How many contributors are there?
A: We are looking for roughly 20 artists, 5 writers, and 5 merch artists.

Q: Will the contributors get a free copy?
A: Contributors will get a guaranteed free copy of the e-zine (the online copy) and the physical zine. Depending on zine sales, each contributor will ideally receive a full physical bundle (physical zine and merch).

Q: I want to participate but I'm a webtoon-only reader/I haven't finished the novel yet, will there be spoilers?
A: There is no spoiler limit for this zine. All fans are welcome to apply. However, as the zine may contain spoilers, please apply at your own risk.

Q: Can I have a beta?
A: You may seek your own beta outside of the fanzine. The betas will not be affiliated with the fanzine and will not be receiving a contributor's copy. The zine mods will be looking over the writing, but they will only be looking for grammatical errors and misspelling of names.

Q: What if I dont like the legend, myth or fairytale that I have?
A: The list of legends, myths or fairytales will be released to contributors at a specified date and time. Contributors will be allowed to choose the legend, myth or fairytale that they want to work with on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Q: Are ships allowed?
A: Yes. However, the zine is not intended to be ship-centric. The mods will ensure that the zine isn't heavily skewed toward any particular ship.

Q: Is NSFW content allowed?
A: No. This is a SFW zine.

Q: Can I write/draw an OC?
A: No.

Q: Does my work have to be stand-alone?
A: Yes, the work must be a stand-alone work.

Q: What if I want to sign up with someone?
A: This is not recommended. Please bear in mind that if you sign up as a collaboration pair under one name (e.g. 2 artists collaborating on one work), then your pair will only be entitled to one contributor's copy.

Q: Can I collaborate with someone who signed up separately from me?
A: Yes. A collaboration between an artist and a writer who signed up separately is permitted, and they will have to produce two works, i.e. one art piece and one writing piece, and they will both receive one contributor's copy each.
